My First Year in France: FranceQuest 365 is not a conventional vocabulary or grammar workbook. Every day presents a purposeful, real-life mission that encourages learners to use French to achieve something practical and to learn daily life French easily.

Learners will practise how to:

• greet people and introduce themselves;
• ask questions and keep a conversation moving;
• understand useful French sounds and pronunciation patterns;
• read signs, maps, menus, messages, tickets and timetables;
• order food, shop within a budget and check information;
• make plans, travel, ask for directions and handle changes;

Three flexible challenge routes

Every daily mission offers three ways to participate:

START – approximately 10 minutes
Use clear support to point, choose, repeat, complete a short response or act out an exchange.

STRETCH – approximately 15 minutes
Change a detail, add a reason, ask a follow-up question or connect several sentences.

OWN IT – approximately 20 minutes
Respond with less support, explain information, handle a surprise or create a longer spoken or written message.

Learners can change routes whenever they need to. The same book can therefore support a younger beginner, an older independent learner or family members learning together.
