About the App

More to say. More to discover.

Go beyond the first hello with French for Holidays — Advanced Level from Quesbo Play. Explain what you need, ask thoughtful questions, handle a change of plan and enjoy longer conversations while travelling in France.

This standalone follow-on to French for Holidays is for learners who already know the basics. Its 20 original advanced units develop practical intermediate-to-advanced French through warmly illustrated holiday scenes, English meanings, pronunciation cues and interactive practice. It has its own purchase and saved progress; the beginner course is not included or required to open it.

One-time payment. Minimum 12 months’ access. No recurring subscription.

Four journeys for a more confident holiday

  • Travel with confidence: flexible bookings, changed train plans, precise room requests, calm solutions and choosing a better route.
  • Taste, discover & connect: go beyond the menu, discuss local produce, understand recommendations, visit cultural events and share experiences at a café.
  • Explore beyond the obvious: compare coastal trips and walks, arrange activities, discover quieter towns and explain thoughtful travel choices.
  • Tell your story: accept or decline invitations tactfully, clear up misunderstandings, reflect on choices, share memories and imagine your next adventure.

A complete interactive course

  • 480 vocabulary and phrase cards: 320 vocabulary entries and 160 useful expressions with French audio, English meanings and specific approximate pronunciation cues.
  • 20 bilingual conversations: 120 dialogue turns with replay and role practice.
  • 320 instantly checked exercises: practise meaning, grammar, sentence forms and verbs with hints, explanations and gentle retries.
  • 120 open activities: translation and reading tasks with model answers. Other accurate wording is welcome; these tasks are not rigidly graded.
  • 20 bilingual stories: follow relatable holiday situations, listen, read and try a small creative project.
  • 40 clearly labelled verb tables: work with the conditional, imperfect, passé composé, pluperfect, future, present subjunctive, past conditional and future perfect in useful contexts.
  • 36 reference entries: pronunciation help, conversation strategies, grammar, verbs and 12 review missions.

Richer French, with support close by

Learn to explain reasons, compare possibilities, connect ideas, report information, describe what had happened, imagine alternatives and express wishes politely. French and English stay together so you understand what you are practising.

Included synthetic French narration plays when you tap Listen on cards, dialogue lines and stories. Replay it or slow it down. Written pronunciation cues are approximate reminders that support listening. Speaking activities are self-practice; the app does not assess your accent.

Choose Guided, Practice or Challenge for different amounts of support. All three cover the same advanced course. Save useful words, collect twenty passport stamps and revisit the phrases you want to use. There is no countdown timer.

Three anonymous learner profiles keep progress separate. Purchased-course progress saves to the purchasing Quesbo account. No child name, child email or microphone is required.

Before you buy

This is an interactive online language app. It does not include a physical book, PDF/EPUB download or app-store installation. An internet connection and a current browser are required. A tablet or computer gives lessons more room. Try the complete first-unit demo on your intended device before purchasing.

Best for confident learners, older children, teens and families who can already manage basic French holiday exchanges. “Advanced Level” describes the progression within this holiday series; this is not an accredited course or language qualification. Conversations, prices, times and bookings are fictional practice examples; check current arrangements with the relevant provider.
