About the App
One hundred verbs. Thousands of things to say.
Italian Verb Quest — 100 Verbs in Action turns useful Italian verbs into conversations children can understand, practise and make their own. Explore an illustrated town with Quesbo Play: buy a snack, plan an outing, help a friend, tell a story and talk about what happened yesterday.
An original, standalone learning app for children around 8–12 and older beginners, with a trusted adult’s help where useful. The 100 verbs are a carefully chosen practical selection, not a claimed official frequency ranking. No book or previous Quesbo purchase is required.
One-time payment. Minimum 12 months’ access. No recurring subscription.

A useful reference that comes alive through practice
- 100 useful verbs, from essere, avere and andare to capire, raccontare and scegliere.
- 600 practical mini-dialogues: one for every verb in each of six tense or construction tabs, with complete English translations of the question and answer.
- Six clear reference tables per verb: Presente, Passato prossimo, Imperfetto, Futuro semplice, Condizionale presente and Trapassato prossimo. See all six person rows, full verb patterns, gender agreement, reflexive pronouns and useful usage notes.
- 20 richly illustrated places, with five verbs in each: explore a market, kitchen, library, park, school and more.
- Supplied Italian audio for all 100 infinitives and 600 answer lines, plus a welcome sound test. Normal and slower playback help children listen, repeat and connect a verb to a complete sentence.
- Approximate pronunciation cues for every answer line, with a clear guide to using them alongside the recordings.
- Choose-the-form challenges, sentence-building tiles and personal speaking missions that encourage children to use what they learn.
- Ten friendly guides covering Italian sounds, personal pronouns and polite Lei, everyday word order, completed past and past habits, avere or essere, modal and reflexive verbs, wishes, earlier past, friendly commands and practice habits.
Choose your next step
Starter focuses on what happens now and telling someone what happened. Explorer explores past stories and future plans. Confident practises wishes, would/could-language and events that happened before another past moment. The Confident route is an optional stretch for more experienced learners. Switch freely, browse all six tabs or try a short five-card session. These are practice routes, not locked age levels.
Standard Italian is the main model, with everyday tu, voi and polite Lei explained. The app shows how useful verbs work in full sentences, why some past forms use essere, and how reflexive pronouns and participle agreement fit together. Passato prossimo and imperfetto have different jobs; the conditional is taught for polite requests and imagined possibilities. This is a focused practical reference, not a complete dictionary of every Italian mood, tense or meaning. Passato remoto and the subjunctive are outside the six practice patterns.
Small steps, saved progress
Three anonymous learner profiles keep practice, favourites and notebooks separate. Purchased progress saves to the purchasing Quesbo account across supported devices; demo progress stays in the current browser. Export your notebook and revisit useful verbs. No child name or child email is required.
Structured exercises check the supplied model. Speaking missions and notebook writing are self-assessed; the app does not record a microphone, grade an accent or automatically correct free writing. Progress badges recognise activity in the app, not a language qualification or a guarantee of fluency.
Listen and understand
Included synthetic Italian narration provides a consistent pronunciation model. Pronunciation cues are approximate English-reader guides; listening is the main reference. Questions, conjugation tables and guides are readable material without supplied recordings.
Before you buy
This is an online browser learning app, not a physical book, card pack or downloadable offline course. An internet connection and a current browser are required. A tablet or computer gives the reference tables more room. Try all six cards for each of the first five verbs on your intended device before purchasing.
This purchase covers Italian Verb Quest only. Other Quesbo games, Quest 365 courses and physical products are separate purchases. Places, people and prices in practice scenarios are fictional learning material.
